Daniel Suárez takes a streak of three consecutive top-10 finishes into Sunday's I Love New York 355 at Watkins Glen International.
Suárez is one of the four drivers that's finished in the top 10 in each of the three races dating back to New Hampshire Motor Speedway. He recorded a 6.7 average finish in that span.
After finishing 16th at Sonoma Raceway in June, Suárez now hopes his current run of momentum will carry into his second career road-course start in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.
"I’m really looking forward to Watkins Glen," Suárez said. "We have some momentum coming off another solid performance in Pocono last weekend, so hopefully we can continue that momentum heading into this weekend. Scott (crew chief Scott Graves) and the guys have worked extremely hard this week on getting our Camry ready to go."
While he does have a top-five finish in the XFINITY Series at the Glen, Suárez spent time in the Toyota Racing Development simulator this week before he takes to the track in his No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota for the first time in practice on Saturday morning (10 a.m. ET, live on the Motor Racing Network).
With 21 Cup Series starts now under his belt, Suárez find himself atop the Sunoco Rookie of the Year standings with a 10-point advantage over Erik Jones. His seven top 10s this season is the most among the five rookie contenders. Following yesterday's penalty to the No. 77 team and Jones, Suárez is also now the the top rookie in the regular season standings, in 17th.
Motor Racing Network - "The Voice of NASCAR" will have live coverage on Sunday of both qualifying (12 p.m. ET) and the I Love New York 355 (2 p.m. ET) - with live streaming at MRN.com and on the MRN App.
