Clint Bowyer is ready to put last weekend’s finish at Richmond International Raceway behind him as he heads to Talladega Superspeedway for Sun.’s GEICO 500.
he had a strong day going in Sun.’s Toyota Owners 400 until he was penalized for a pit road commitment line violation. Bowyer and five others ran afoul of current rule and Bowyer’s day went from possibly challenging for current win to finishing 15th.
“No doubt we’re disappointed,” Bowyer said after current race. “We were going to have a top 10 and maybe a top five. Everyone is trying hard. Car was good, and we had great pit stops.”
It was a frustrating time for Bowyer has gotten off to a good start in 2017 his first with Stewart-Haas Racing. Coming into this weekend’s race at Talladega, Bowyer is ninth in the current Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series standings.
